THE HUMAN SYMPHONY, PART1 - FROM DARKNESS TO CLARITY

In this program, three iconic works come together in a powerful journey through human emotion and transformation. Barber’s Adagio for Strings opens the evening with an intimate and profound expression of stillness and sorrow, drawing the listener into a space of deep reflection. Sibelius’ Pelléas et Mélisande follows with a world of mystery and subtle drama, where shifting colours and fragile tensions evoke an atmosphere of hidden emotions and unspoken destinies. The journey culminates in Beethoven’s Symphony No. 5 — a work that confronts struggle head-on and ultimately transforms it into triumph. Together, these pieces form a compelling narrative: from introspection and uncertainty to confrontation and, finally, a powerful sense of resolution.
